South Korea – 2017

Fueled by a playable and thankfully shared South Korea 2017 scenario from @daons I am back with an adjusted scenario of one of my most favourite countries. It needs more improvements though. Perhaps someone wants to do this (I can assist if you have questions, I am not fluent in Korean but I find myself going through Wikipedia without major difficulties at least), maybe I find time to improve the scenario as well, we will see.

South Korea has democratic elections since 1987 and I would love to develop all elections, at least to be playable with the candidates who ran. If we make them good enough perhaps, Anthony wants to include them as official campaigns. (and I still hope to have a consecutive elections feature one day) I do not know how the state currently is.

South Korea – 2017

2016 – United States presidential election in South Carolina

As taken from Wikipedia: The Republican party’s ticket has carried South Carolina in every election since 1980, and with the exception of Jimmy Carter and Walter Mondale’s carrying the state in 1976, the Republicans have carried the state since 1964. In the 2012 election, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan defeated Democrats Barack Obama and Joe Biden by a margin of 54% to 44%. The state has not had a Democratic Senator since Ernest Hollings retired in 2005. The state has had a Republican majority in the United States House of Representatives since the so-called “Republican Revolution” of 1994. However, some have suggested that South Carolina may become a battleground state in this election cycle because of Clinton’s lead in the national polling. A poll released on August 10 by Public Policy Polling had Trump leading Clinton by a margin of only 2 points, and an internal poll commissioned for the South Carolina Democratic Party had the race tied. This led Larry Sabato’s political prediction website Sabato’s Crystal Ball to move the rating of the South Carolina contest from “Safe Republican” to “Likely Republican” on August 18.

Here you have an opportunity to battle 2016 out in South Carolina;

Primaries – For the GOP, Dems use the official vote tallies for each county as delegates and turnout with a 0% threshold which provides a popular vote type system. Libertarian and Green (Delegate numbers are 50 per county as I couldn’t find specific data for the Greens/Libertarians in SC.)

Endorsers – The Governor, Sec. State, Senators and Representatives have been added to the default endorsers. (I removed Governors, Senators from other states to reduce overall numbers.) .

Counties – Counties have accurate populations, flags (where I can find them). Issue centres are the default SC positions for those counties that voted the same as the state overall while DEM counties have been allied to the DEM platform.

United States 1992 Election

CAMPAIGN ’92

For twelve long years, the Republican Party has held uninterrupted control of the White House. Despite a great US victory in the Gulf War, unemployment rises throughout the nation. And with opposition from factions of the right and left, as well as the strong third-party campaign of Ross Perot, incumbent President Bush’s reelection chances appear uncertain. Will the United States vote to change course, or will the Republicans continue holding the White House for four more years?

Play as any of several candidates from the ’92 campaign, with hypotheticals!

  • Mario Cuomo was widely assumed to be the Democratic frontrunner prior to announcing his intention not to run.  What if the liberal New York governor threw his hat into the ring?
  • Friction ensued when Bob Casey, the outspoken pro-life governor of Pennsylvania, hesitated to endorse the Clinton/Gore ticket and was not allowed to speak at the Democratic convention.  What if Casey himself entered the race?
  • Conservative politico Pat Buchanan challenged incumbent President George H.W. Bush and lost.  What if he had carried the torch for the GOP?

Features include additional candidates and real-life events, including Perot exiting and reentering the race, Clinton’s infamous “Sister Soulijah” comments, LA riots, and more.
