Abala – 1978

“Abala is a Mediterranean island and a British dominion with roots stretching back to the Middle Ages.  It has a dual English and Abalese heritage, and has been a member of the Commonwealth since attaining independence in 1929.  The governing Progressive Conservatives have called a snap election to test the electoral waters- can the opposition parties knock out the “natural governing party?”

Anarchy In The UK!

“Alright, all you mad geezers! The route to becoming Prime Anarchist begins, where wrecking the Houses of Parliament gets you votes! A paralell universe where extremes are the norm, and getting into politics is a piece of cake, silliness and novelty invited! Whether it be hosting devious pranks, or where the most stupidest of stupidest people come forth, you are filthy rich, you come from Europe with some money and cheesy pop song, your a screaming rightie or leftie, your a puppet, it’s complete and utter nuts, this political scene! The biggest party, the Scumbag party, for the third time this year, are defending their Government against 11 possible contenders….”

Blackpool Council Election – 2003

“Blackpool, a popular seaside resort in north west England, has been Labour controlled since 1992, however despite it being billed as a holiday resort for the working classes these days, it has always had healthy pockets of Conservative support in it’s wealthy suburbs. However, some of the most deprived areas in Northern England lie in the south of the town. In the previous Council election in 2000, a Tory revival was much on cards as they gained 8 seats from Labour, however they still lie 8 seats behind Labour. The Lib Dems are hoping to replicate their previous performance, where they gained 1 seat. They hope to strengthen their strongholds and expand. Can the Tories fight back once again, or will Labour remain in total power of the council?”

Crewe and Nantwich By-Election – 2008

“Following the death of sitting Labour MP Gwyneth Dunwoody, Crewe & Nantwich has come under blanket media coverage for a by-election fight between Labour and the Conservatives, after disappointing May local election results for the Labour Government. With the Tories sailing ahead in polls, and Gordon Brown’s disastrous U-turn on the removal of the 10p national income tax band, can they win their first Westminster by-election since 1982?”

Kanchelska - 2008
Kanchelska – 2008

“Since the break-up of the Soviet Union, Kanchelska has elected a Communist Party to Government since. It is isolated by former Soviet States which have now ditched Communist parties from government. It is thought this has remained because many Soviet supporting Slavs of Russian descent have immigrated here, attracted by flat taxation and a rotation policy used in the employment which tries to help the most poverty-striken. Many Russian slavs have settled in central Kanchelska, but this has caused much rife with Polish speakers, who make up most of the population, along with a Ukranian minority to the east. The country has seen tragic events such as a nuclear accident in 2001, killing and contaminating hundreds, as well as the Slavic Riots of 2007. This has made this country one of the poorest in Europe.”

Manchester Westminster Election – 2005

“Manchester has gone through a great regeneration process in the last few years, with much aid from the city’s hosting of the 2002 Commonwealth Games. Large sections of the city centre has been demolished to make way for sleek, modern buildings with more to come. However, the east of the city is in need of repair. Other problems for the rapid development is rising crime, especially in the Moss Side and Wythenshawe areas. This is a very Labour dominated area, with the Conservatives losing their sparkle here, not having held a Manchester seat since 1987. However, with the great divide in opinion over the Iraq War, there is a strong chance the anti-iraq war Liberal Democrats can make a breakthrough here.”

Norwich City Council Election – 2008

“Norwich is an English city which lies to east in the Norfolk region. It is the most important city in a region which is mostly rural. Although Norwich has been slated as an old-fashioned and detached city, in recent years, it has come across as one of the most environmentally friendly cities in the UK. It has become a transition town, where it welcomes & experiments new greener ways to live. This is why the Green party have done so well in previous council elections, and this could be their best performance yet. With the fading issue of the Iraq War, this could be a golden chance for the Greens to overtake the Lib Dems in second place. Or could this council be Labour-controlled no more? Also, will the Tory revival have any effect here?”

Liverpool Westminster Election - 1983
Liverpool Westminster Election – 1983

“Due to the global economic slowdown and Prime Minister Thatcher’s modernising of industry – closing down the mining idustries – has lead to Liverpool having the highest unemployment rates in the whole of the UK. 12,000 people each year is leaving the city, so population is dwindling. An astonishing 15% of the city land is vacant or derelict. There is also tension over immigrants, leading to The Toxteth riots, over the Government’s inability to do anything about the poverty and rising immigration. Liverpool has become a solid pro-Labour city. The Conservatives currently have 2 seats but are in danger of having no seats here, with the new major boundary changes also playing it’s part. Not to mention the city losing 2 seats, from 8 to 6. The Liberals, now the SDP-Liberal Alliance, hope to maintain their 3 seats. So will it be a Labour whitewash, or has Britain’s victory in the Falklands War saved Thatcher’s blushes?”
